Attorney Richard L. Morris has been practicing domestic relations law since
1990. As a problem solver, he is able to offer help with dividing marital
assets, liabilities, and households as well as dealing with minor children,
deciding how they will be cared for, and what time and expense each parent
will be responsible for at the end of the marriage or relationship.

Experience and Background
Attorney Morris was born in Montreal, Canada and lived there until the
age of 15 when his family moved to Florida. While living in Canada, he
became a competitive swimmer and continued to swim after moving to Florida.
After graduating high school, he attended Louisiana State University for
one year then transferred to Florida State University where he graduated
and swam collegiately at both schools.
After graduating college, he worked for his parents at their printing shop
then decided to attend law school because his cousin, an attorney, possessed
a tremendous drive and tenacity to help others, and he wanted to emulate
He remains an active swimmer and a member of the New Albany Master’s
Swim Team. Even at the age of 51, he is a nationally ranked swimmer and
competes at the U.S. Masters National Swim Meets each year.
In addition, he coached for the New Albany Aquatics Swim Club for two years,
where he was the lead coach of the Tsunami Group (children ages 9-11)
and he recently accepted the head swim coaching position at Westerville
North High School.
The most important part of his life, however, is family. Attorney Morris
has been married for 23 years and has two children. His oldest daughter,
who is now in college, participated in volleyball and swimming during
her high school years and his youngest daughter has been a competitive
dancer for 8 years. He has had the pleasure of working with his wife for
over 17 years, who acts as his legal assistant and office manager.
