Attorney Richard L. Morris has been practicing domestic relations law since
1990. As a problem solver, he is able to offer help with dividing marital
assets, liabilities, and households as well as dealing with minor children,
deciding how they will be cared for, and what time and expense each parent
will be responsible for at the end of the marriage or relationship.

Experience and Background
Attorney Morris was born in Montreal, Canada and lived there until the
age of 15 when his family moved to Florida. While living in Canada, he
became a competitive swimmer and continued to swim after moving to Florida.
After graduating high school, he attended Louisiana State University for
one year then transferred to Florida State University where he graduated
and swam collegiately at both schools.
After graduating college, he worked for his parents at their printing shop
then decided to attend law school because his cousin, an attorney, possessed
a tremendous drive and tenacity to help others, and he wanted to emulate
He remains an active swimmer and is a member of New Albany Master’s
Swim Team. Even at the age of 56, he is a nationally ranked swimmer and
competes at the U.S. Masters Nationals each year, and has been a member
of 2 National Championship relays at the National Meet in 2016 & 2017.
In addition, he coaches for the New Albany Aquatic Club, where he is the
lead coach of the Hurricane, Tsunami, and IM Groups. He was the head swim
coach at Westerville North High School for 4 years and had swimmers qualify
for the OHSSA State meet each year. He had a State Champion and had swimmers
achieve top 5 Podium finishes, including 3 swimmers who achieved All-American
Status as swimmers and students.
The most important part of his life, however, is family. Attorney Morris
has been married for 28 years and has two children. His oldest daughter
is a graduate of The Ohio State University with a degree in Education
and coaches with Attorney Morris at New Albany Aquatic Club. His youngest
daughter is a Senior Finance Major at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
He has had the pleasure of working with his wife for over 20 years, who
acts as his legal assistant and office manager.
