I am a long-time resident of the Columbus-Gahanna, Ohio area. I graduated from Plantation High School in Plantation, Florida in 1982. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Florida State University in 1986 and my Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Dayton School of Law in 1990.

In 1990, I was an assistant prosecuting attorney for the Montgomery County, Ohio Child Prosecutor's Office, where I prosecuted child support delinquency cases. I then became a regional partner with Hyatt Legal Services and worked for Hyatt Legal Services for approximately four years. After leaving Hyatt Legal Services, I started my own law firm and have been in private practice since 1994. My primary area of practice is divorce and family law.

I am a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and the Columbus Bar Association. I am also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, Eastern Division.

During my high school years, I was part of the Plantation High School swim team and the Ft. Lauderdale swim team, where I swam under the direction of world-renowned coach Jack Nelson. I was a two-time High School All-American Swimmer and reached a ranking of 15th in the world in the 100 Meter Backstroke event, and 17th in the world in the 200 Meter Backstroke. I was also a medal winner in the Maccabi Games in Israel in 1981.

Swimming allowed me to travel throughout the United States, England, Scotland and Israel. I was also the British Age Group Champion in 1979 and the United States Junior National Champion in 1982 in the 200 Yard Backstroke.

While I was an undergraduate student at Florida State University, I was a scholarship swimmer and earned the Bim Stults Award as the top student athlete on the Florida State University swim team in 1986. I also received a letterman ring. In addition, I was a member of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity.

I have been married for more than 15 years and have two children. My wife and I are very active with our children's activities. My oldest daughter has begun competition swimming and my youngest has an interest in competition tap dancing.

I have many interests outside of my work and I am an avid sports fan. Hockey is one of my favorite sports, and I am a season ticket holder with the Columbus Blue Jackets. I also support all Ohio professional sports teams and, of course, I am a big OSU fan. I enjoy watching and playing golf whenever I can. I love to attend baseball games throughout the country and visit the many great ball parks.

I love to travel and take family vacations with my wife and children. I am also socially active with my neighbors and hold many neighborhood functions such as barbeques and theme parties, and participate in a monthly poker game in the neighborhood to promote a sense of community.
